CPREzy proves to be a solution to CPR skill loss.
Researchers at the University Hospital in Aachen, Germany, have investigated the effect of using the CPREzy, a mechanical guidance and feedback device, in CPR training. Using approved ERC (European Resuscitation Council) training procedures they found that those students who were introduced to CPREzy during training retained their skills longer when they were later tested WITHOUT the device. NedCert, the only certification body authorised by the Dutch Accreditation Council for issuing certificates of competence in accordance with ISO/IEC 17024:2003 for First Aid, Basic Life Support and AED use, have announced that they have now authorised the use of the CPREzy in examinations of an individual’s competency in delivering good quality chest compressions as a part of CPR. CPREzy - A new adjunct to improve quality of chest compressions
With the "CPREzyTM" (Health Affairs, UK), comparatively simple equipment was tested, which is designed to support the user in performing ECC. Having applied it to the lower end of the sternum, compressions are executed by the user on the top of the CPREzy-pad. The depth is indicated during the compression by a row of LEDs which light up and are marked for children, small, normal, large and very large adults. When the pressure is released correctly these LEDs expire after each compression. A clearly audible beep at the rate of 100/min. indicates the necessary speed of the ECC. Read More..
